Longtime ABC news anchor Barbara Walters will announce her retirement today on The View, the show she co-created in 1997. Good Morning America let the cat out of the bag this morning by revealing her plans.

The New York Times published a report Sunday night revealing Barbara Walters is set to announce her retirement on "The View" on Monday. The Times was able to interview Ms. Walters, relating: âIt's time,â Ms. Walters said,
It's true. The legendary newscaster will say goodbye next summer to TV journalism. While she'll leave 'The View,' she'll remain as executive producer.
